I was a great honor and pleasure to tour with Pastiche Steel Ensemble in the moth of October this year! We played highschools, universities and headlining shows in West Virginia, Ohio, Georgia and Florida. All of the members of Pastiche have huge amounts of talent and are such wonderful people. Hanging out and wandering around our various locations was as fun as performing with these guys! Check out their website (linked above), to see what they are all about. Pastiche represents the next generation of steelpan players from all over the world.
The JAZZ TRIALS at the Law Office Pub and Music Hall in Yorkville have become established! We have now done 4 of the monthly events and it looks like we will continue doing them for a very long time. There is only ONE MORE Jazz Trials Jazz Jam for the 2016 event calendar. So save the date November 17th for Jazz Trials V! Jazz musicians of all skill levels and all ages are welcome to come and play!
The first friday of every month is a celebration of art and culture in downtown Aurora. The city hosts “First Fridays” from 6-9pm. It’s an opportunity for members of the community to check out the city’s wonderful art galleries, stores and coffee shops. December 2nd, at the conclusion of First Friday I will be hosting a jazz quartet at Culture Stock from 8-10pm. Immediately after live jazz, there will be poets and spoken word artists presenting their pieces. I hope to see you there!!!
